Teen stance, guard and cue response

A ten-minute first session built around control before intensity.

Supervised teenage athlete aligning a controlled punch with a KINEPEAK Challenge target

The first objective is not speed or score. It is the repeatable loop of balanced stance, clear guard, one aligned punch and a complete reset before the next cue.

Before the session

  • An adult checks the fixed mount, target reach and clear floor area.
  • Use light padded training gloves and keep the phone holder from becoming a distraction.
  • The adult remains present and gives one technique cue at a time.

Ten-minute session

  1. 2 minutes: warm up shoulders and find a comfortable staggered stance.
  2. 2 minutes: rehearse one straight punch, neutral wrist and return to guard without using the lights.
  3. 3 × 60 seconds: complete light single-punch Train rounds with 45 seconds of recovery.
  4. 1 final easy round: respond to the cue, then stop immediately when the round ends.

Adult coaching cues

Choose one cue for each round: keep the feet under the body, point the knuckles toward the target, or bring the hand back to guard. Avoid giving several corrections during the same short round.

How to judge progress

Progress means the teenager can see the cue, make one controlled decision, align the punch and recover the stance across all three rounds. Speed can increase later, after the movement remains organized.
